Home Sweet Home

This week I've totally realized how much I love being at home. After snowed-in weekends at my parents house, hospital visits, birthday parties, parent/teacher conferences, and choir rehearsals, I didn't get home before 7:30p all week long last week!

I teach the children's choir at my church. Have I ever told you that? I absolutely love it. This is my second year and it's so much fun. However, I was so busy last week, I wasn't in the correct mood last Wednedsay to be teaching K-5th grade children upbeat songs about Christ. How horrible is that?!

My Bible study last night was so pertinent to my attitude last week. It was all about joy, even during the bad. I needed to have joy last week at choir, even though I hadn't been home all week. I needed to have joy last week at choir, even though I was so exhausted. I needed to have joy last week at choir, because that's what those kids deserved.

This post isn't about that, though. Sorry, little tangent. This post is about how much I enjoy my home. On Friday, I had the day off. Since I was at school on Tuesday and Thursday until 7:30p doing Parent/Teacher conferences, it is mandatory that I get the day off on Friday. Or, they pay me over-time, which we all know isn't going to happen. It was wonderful. I got to spend the whole day with my husband (who also had P/T conferences and got the day off. Praise the Lord for allowing us to have the same schedule!). We slept in, made breakfast, did a few chores, watched a few recorded shows that we'd missed during the week, and just lounged:) Caught up on some much needed rest and relaxation.

All that to say, I absolutely love being at home.

P.S. We are still in the process of putting up our doors. Because of the week last week, we only got one put up. That means we now have 4 up total:) A slow process, but a wonderful one. Nick is doing such a great job! I'm so proud of him. It's going to look wonderful when it's all done and I'll be sure to post pictures when it is.
