I know I'm way behind on this post, but we were in Florida this past week (I'll post about that soon)!!
Oh well...better late than never, right?
Our week started with a kids meal for me...I absolutely love peanut butter & jelly and I love puffy Cheetos:)
And a nap with Daddy:)
Tuesday we had some men come and cut branches of our tree that was hanging in the road. It was fascinating! One guy was way up high in a bucket cutting and the other two were shoving huge branches into this chopper. It was a little scary (hoping they wouldn't get sucked in too...think "Fargo") but just so cool:) Of course no one got hurt!
That afternoon Lucas started messing around with a hairband I have (one that goes around my head to keep my super-annoying-bangs-I'm-trying-to-grow-out out of my face) and Nick thought he looked like LeBron James! Haha:)
And that night we had chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans for dinner and Lucas learned how to eat mashed potatoes...with his fingers! He dipped them in and then stuck them in his mouth. It was so funny:) He absolutely loved them!
The next day we headed to Tulsa! I had a meeting to fill out some paperwork for Union and Lucas had a good time playing with Uncle Callen and Aunt Cassie:)
We stayed the night and Mommy did some more work in her classroom and Daddy took Lucas to swim at their apartment pool!!
Friday we had a pretty lazy day at home, but there's been a new development in Lucas' pooping here lately. He has gone to hide or put himself in a corner. Well, this time he moved toys in his room out of the way so he could have a corner to poop in. So funny!
Friday night we went to a surprise party for a friend in our Sunday School class. He turned 30!!! Lucas had so much fun playing with the balloons!!
Saturday evening, as has been tradition for the past few Saturdays this summer, Nick has played church softball! Their games are at different times every week and usually we can go to one and be home before Lucas' bedtime. Not this time! They started over an hour later than planned, but he didn't mind. He had lots of water and 2 suckers (the little ones from the bank) and he even played in the dirt! I know bad mom, but typical boy and he loved it:)
Here he is in his sweaty, sucker drool glory! Red cheeks and all:)
After this we got busy for our Florida trip will be blogged about very soon!

18 Months
My dear sweet Lucas,
Words cannot describe how proud of you we are. There were so many milestones we knew would come by the time you were 18 months. We knew you'd be walking, we knew you'd be starting to talk, we knew you'd be using a spoon and fork most of the time, and we knew you would be growing and changing so much!
Little did we know how much we'd love you and how much you'd change our lives! Every decision we make is in your best interest. Where we go, how long we stay, where we eat, how we choose who drives and who doesn't, what games we play, what is on TV, what music we listen to, etc. You are such a part of us that we don't know what we did before you came along.
We are about to move out of this house we brought you home to and right now we don't know where we will be living long-term. It's scary and exciting all at the same time. We hope you know we are doing this all because we are thinking of your future. We are thinking of what church we want you to grow up and be a part of, we are thinking of what school we want you to attend, we are thinking of a house where you can grow up and explore, we are thinking of you!
We want you to know that we will always love you and we will always do what's best for you. We will always put your interests above our own. We are here for you!
We love you so much and are so excited you are sharing this adventure with us! We are so thankful to be your parents and we trust that God will take care of all three of us along the way!
All our love,
Mommy and Daddy

Summer: Week 8
This past week started out just as Sunday afternoons should...with naps! I take a nap every Sunday afternoon (if I can); I can't live without them! But, they are especially good when my little man joins me:) He didn't stay here for very long because I wouldn't have been able to sleep well and neither would he, but it was amazing while it lasted!
We then headed to Papa's to swim and our friends joined us. We were too busy swimming to get any pictures, but we went and played at their house after. Lucas had fun on her little bouncy horse:)
Monday morning Lucas got on his own little toy, only it doesn't bounce. He's got to push his feet to make it move forward. We have been practicing and he finally figured it out!!
We then headed to town later that day and we put Lucas' hat on. Somehow he figured out how to turn it sideways and he looked like a little gansta:)
Tuesday morning he had some yogurt with his breakfast and things got a little crazy!! He started out eating very well with a spoon. A little messy, but no big deal:)
Then when he got to the bottom, he turned it over to get some more out and it all of the sudden became like fingerpaint! It was everywhere:)
Since he loved this so much, that afternoon we pulled out the play dough!!! I'd never given it to him before, but he really liked it. We also got the crayons out too and he liked them okay, but he was more interested in putting them back in their box:)
On Wednesday, we headed to our new town of Broken Arrow! Nick had to sign his contract at Coweta and Mom, Cassie and I worked on my classroom:) Uncle Callen babysat Lucas while he napped! They have such a good time together. Nick and I also met with a sitter for Lucas. I think it's going to work out very well! We then met Mom, Aunt Cassie and Uncle Callen at Texas Roadhouse for dinner. So yummy!! I'm pretty sure they were staring at Lucas' at this point!
Thursday we got our house ready for a garage sale! We are moving, so we have cleaned out closets and our shed and we had some things to get rid of. We sold quite a bit. We had it Friday and Saturday morning starting at 7a. At 6:30a on Friday, the first lady showed up! That's when I took this;)
People stopped coming about 11:30a and Nick decided to show off his mad basketball spinning skills and Lucas got a little too close:( Nick caught him with his fingernail and Lucas got some battle wounds.
Nick felt so bad! Poor guy. Lucas barely cried and he smiled at Daddy while he cleaned it all up:) We're all good!!
We sold most everything Friday which was good because we had to close up shop early on Saturday for a wedding between my dear step-sister Kendall and her man Cameron:) Mom took some pictures, but I haven't gotten any off her camera yet. I stole this of the lovely bride and groom from Facebook!!
We had a lot of fun and got a lot done, but we still have so much to do!
We listed our house with a realtor today, so please pray it will sell fast!!! I'd greatly appreciate it.
All in all, another busy week, but another great one!!!

Summer: Week 7
This week was another busy one and I didn't do very well at documenting:(
Sunday after Sunday School, we all spend time in our classroom oohing and aahing over the babies:) We were able to get a pretty good shot of Lucas and his little (I say little, even though he's taller!) friend Brody!
Monday we went to the lake and I had my camera, but I spent my time skiing so I wasn't able to take any pictures. I hadn't skied in so long and I was sore, but it was so fun!!!
Tuesday Nick had to go to Coweta (a post about that later) so Lucas and I spent our time at Mimi's. We played in the pool and then when Poppy got home he shared his drink:) Lucas loves drinking out of a straw!
Wednesday was the 4th of July! The only picture I got of Lucas was in our hallway right before we went to some friends for the evening. I don't know what my deal was this week!
We spent the day laying out by Papa's pool then we went to our friend's that evening. I was burnt, burnt, burnt!! Our Sunday School teacher's wife took this picture of my friends Mika and Keylie and me!
On any given day you can find Lucas in his room surrounded by his books! He just loves looking through them. He stays in there for a long time and is totally content. So cute and I hope that love for reading continues!
And Friday we did something crazy! Well not too crazy, but a little scary...we put our house up for sale!!! Again, I'll post about this soon, but be praying for it to sell!!!!
And that's it for pictures from last week. I told you it was bad:( I promise I'm doing better this week!
Even though I don't have very many pictures, it was another good week!!!!!!

Summer: Week 6
Gosh, another fun and busy week!
**Warning: A lot of pictures in this post!!
It started off with Lucas' first time with a sprinkler! He absolutely loved running through it and getting his face in it:)
Then we went to Papa's and Nana took a picture of me reading him a story! I love this picture:) He looks so happy!!
Then on Tuesday, Nick and I dropped Lucas' off at Papa's and headed to Dallas for our 4th anniversary trip!!!
Our first destination was the outlet mall! Nick got me my first Coach for my anniversary! I was so excited:)
We then checked into our hotel, got dressed and headed out to eat!
My sweet cousin and his wife had just been to Dallas and recommended Rafain Brazilian Steakhouse:) It was delicious and since we told them we were down for our anniversary, they brought us special dessert! It was really sweet:)
We also got this picture of Lucas that day. Grammy picked him up and he loved swimming and playing outside with her:)
We then headed to Studio Movie Grill to see "Rock of Ages". Hey, it's our anniversary...we are staying out late!!! We walked into the movie and it was set up like a little restaurant...you sat in big arm chairs (office style) and sat at a table. You pushed a little red button and a waiter came around and took your order! It was so fun:) We had just had a huge meal and dessert, so a Diet Coke was all I needed! So fun, though:)
The next morning, we got up and headed to Ikea!!! We had a blast. Nick had never been and he was very impressed!
We ate lunch at In 'n Out!! It was so yummy and the menu is hilarious...so simple! It was also very cheap:) Loved it!
Mimi met Grammy in Claremore and kept Lucas for the rest of the trip! Mimi (my mom) didn't even make Lucas wear a swimsuit:)
Then, since I'm married to a history buff and we are big Kennedy nerds and as a little ode to my dad, we headed to the Sixth Floor Museum where JFK was shot! I had been when I was younger, but Nick had never been. Also, we had just watched "The Kennedy's" HBO mini-series, so it was a really neat thing to see. It's just the saddest story:(
Here's the famous window where Lee Harvey Oswald stood
Sittin on the grassy knoll
Nick standing on the "X" where JFK's car was
And Dealey Plaza where the crowd of people were watching him
After that, we cooled off a little and headed to the Texas Rangers baseball game. Nick's such a huge baseball fan and wants to see as many ballparks as he can in his lifetime. He really loves the Cardinals, but he just loves baseball, so if we're in a town that has a team, we will try and go see them:)
A little batting practice before the game
The view from our seats
Josh Hamilton
The guy in the green shirt in the front row is President George Bush, the man in the navy sitting next to him is Nolan Ryan (famous Rangers player and now owner), the lady in the white is Nolan's wife, and the lady in the aqua is First Lady Laura:) So fun spotting them!
And me and my man before the games started! Don't worry, the seats were full during the game:) Haha!
We had a great time with each other! It was needed more than I can even tell you:) Thursday morning, we headed home. We got to Mom's house and Lucas played outside and swam and Nick looked funny watching him, so I took a picture:)
We headed home on Friday and spent the rest of the weekend cooking for a baby shower! Lucas loved to help:)
It was a great little vaca with my man, but we missed Lucas so much too! Another great week:)
Can't believe it's already July!!!
